Thanks for all the replies! So far, gone with a pair of Nady RSM-4s. The plan is to have Joly mod them in a couple months, after I wrap my head around the stock-sound. That will cover the pair of "dark-end" of the cheap ribbon mics... Then will have to decide on a pair of "brighter-end" cheap ribbon...

Someone should really pick this up! I have an old 201N(C) that I use every time on electric guitar cabs, along with a 57 and anything else I might throw up. People love them on snare too.

I think I still have 5-6 or so ADC-brand ones left from when I was using long frame 1/4". Will take a look at the studio Monday.
