I've got a Vestax 200mkII that looks as cool as any piece of equipment I've ever seen. So many ins and outs on that little thing! The motor isn't stable so it's not for anything serious but it's fantastic for "soundscape" stuff or just screwing around.

I won't make a habit of bumping this thread but I just released some good ol' fashioned amigacore just like they used to make in the early 90's. This is exactly the type of thing I'm trying to promote. This artist is from Australia which is a hotbed of electronic hardcore at the moment. http://f0.bc...

Since you've moved upstairs maybe take a look at the roof and/or attic space above you. Is there an actual antenna nearby from an old TV setup, for example. Maybe even lightning rods or somesuch.

Datathrash Recordings - A label for lofi electronics

This is a link to the releases page of my net/physical record label. We focus on "lofi electronics" which generally means music from the chip scene. I've done post production on a few of these but most come in as finished pieces. http://datathrash.bandcamp.com Some personal favorite tracks to check ...

Grab a recent price guide from Barnes and Nobel or some such. I haven't found a good web site that doesn't require a paid membership. :(

I have that Imagine poster framed in my living room (creases and all) :) Picture discs and colored vinyl can be very collectible, usually only if they're original pressings. From the pics you have I'm guessing these are fairly recent re-issues. Probably worth slightly more than the original price ($...

Thanks for the responses, pretty much confirmed what I expected. @Scodiddly -- the main reason I wanted to set things up like this is that most of my effects don't have balanced inputs and using an insert cable would easily give me two unbalanced plugs to work with... in other words "lazy" :P Also, ...

Split a balanced siganl to two effects units, bad idea?

My desktop mixer has a balanced effect output. Using an insert cable I could send two mono signals to two different external effects... but is that a terrible idea? Is the polarity already flipped at the output (and does that even matter if I'm going through several more in/outs)? The two mono signa...

A quick search shows there's not one for sale on eBay or craigslist (according to allofcraigslist.com) so this is probably the ideal time for you to put it up for sale. Put it on eBay and offer to ship internationally (a pain but you'll get better bids).

Here's another vote for Reaper. It's an incredibly deep and customizable program but if you focus on learning only the essentials first you'll be up and running quickly. I haven't looked at the system requirements for a long time but I've only ever had lowest-end machines and it runs great.

I record a lot of toy sounds (gameboy, old casios, walkmans, etc) and the headphone amps from these guys work fantastic as a "pre-amp" for that stuff:

Vince Guaraldi Trio -- A Charlie Brown Christmas
White Zombie -- Astro Creep 2000
