I record with a Groove Tubes Ditto box. It can sound very nice as is, but then during mixing, I'll run it out to an Alembic preamp and McIntosh MC30 into an Acme Low B2. Sounds amazing. I've done it with an AT4051 for group soprano vocals in an accapella session. It was a bit too bright for my taste.
