I was a sophomore in high school -- my friend Jon climbed up onto the roof of the school and brought the flag down to half-mast. He got into trouble but it was worth it.

That would be great! You have a nice room? That?s totally why my situation sucks right now. I mix in a Living Room, which sounds pretty good for mixing, but nothing near what I would need for that. But yes good call, that would be the best solution. Thanks Sorry, all I have is a basement!

Are the optical ins and outs on most Apple computers also S/PDIF? I have a TOSlink cable that I use with my MBP sometimes -- is this S/PDIF?

I would be tempted to just use the two mics myself -- a lot less hassle! 57 over right shoulder or front of kit, and the kick. But I would be interested in hearing the iPhone room mic. Does the pillow work like a -10db pad or something? I imagine it would probably tame the cymbals substantially as w...

to maximize "stan lynch" effect, play consistently 20ms behind beat.
You expect a laid-back southern guy to play on top of the beat?

Whoops, actually it was the third album, the one that opens with Intruder. Spraying the cans. Steve Lillywhite produced that record -- he has a radio show on East Village Radio Tuesday afternoons -- you can just call him at the station and ask him questions, or twitter him beforehand. Sorry for the ...

Roscoe's suggestion reminds me of Peter Gabriel's fourth album, which they purposefully avoided cymbals on. They even used aerosol cans for hi-hats, if memory serves.
