A passive transformer split will give isolation, an active amplifier based split will give isolation. The resistor method will give a little bit of isolation. A 'Y' cable won't give any at all. For classical you probably want very high quality transformers, or very high quality active.

I did a 20 channel job with UTC A-20's several years ago when they were still cheap. You might still get lucky and find some, but the Cinemag will probably be competitive on price. Whirlwind and Sescom both make their own iso trannies too.
