Could you clarify what os you are on and what you were recording?

Alot of bass gear geek type people swear by the Avalon U5. Never tried it myself but I'd like to.

I'm using an Mbox on a G4 800 iMac and it lags a bit compared to my friends G4 Powerbook. I think the L3 Cache on the Powerbook makes quite a difference. Consider the 002 Rack if you can afford it.
