Re: acoustic gtr recording prob

Where are you micing the guitar? How far away? Are you strumming, flatpicking, or playing fingerstyle? Tell us more about the compression you're using (ratio, attack, release, how much gain reduction, etc...).

Re: Monitors that don't lie or steal your money

I've been monitoring almost excslusively on YSM-1s for the last 4 years. The are a murky at times, compared to the few times I've got to play my stuff back on Genelecs and other high end speakers, but they seem to be translating ok. That's what I mean. They're not perfect, and I definitely know wha...

I just don't know if I'd be able to download a big ass file. Also, I am in the 16 bit dark ages  , but it would definitely just be fun to try it.

Yeah. This is fucking great. Did anyone see Frontline last night? Terrorists are basically using Iraq as a training camp now. Why go overseas to kill Americans when they will come to you?

Re: Names NOT to Use for Your STUDIO

I've always thought having "Productions" in a studio name is super-cheesy. It makes me think of MIDI "studios" that have one mic (a 414!) and specialize in karaoke, bad new age, or cheezy hiphop/r&b. My bandmate named his basement setup Gross Incompetence. Maybe he'll change the name if he ever deci...
