Re: Soundcraft Spirit M12, your thoughts please?
I've been wanting a Spirit SX... It seems perfect for my needs. I sure wish I could find one at that price, though! Sorry, I advertised that sucker all over the place about 8 months ago (tapeop, ebay...). I don't know if you're familiar with digibid.com (you probably are), but that's were I got it....

Re: You weren't kidding!
Of course you're right. The line is the hard part. But, to say that the obsenity of a $6500 wire is relative is an over simplification. $6500 IS different than $25 even if I have no money. I think there are certain extremes of consumerism and greed that should be called to task. And I don't think th...

Re: Soundcraft Spirit M12, your thoughts please?
Useless post ahead: I had the Spirit SX20 for a while. Very nice for the price ($200 through digibid). I've since sold it to a reputable engineer who plans to use it for quickie location stuff. The SX20 is kind of a hybrid live/recording thing, it's routing might be a little more flexible, but I'm n...

Re: You weren't kidding!
I know I'm going to get berated for this, but... It's wrong for someone to spend $6500 for stereo cables. Just as it's wrong to make 100 mil in a year. There's too much poverty and fucked up living situations in the US alone to excuse such a choice. It's a matter of priority. The guy on the way to t...

Re: The young hipsters are killing me....
First, I wanna second the "Got Dam" regarding the track shoes. What always bemuses me about the hipster community is how rigid they are from a fashion point-of-view. My favorite pastime is putting on a pair of khakis, a knit golf shirt, and heading Second, I never fault a band for trying to do whate...

Re: The young hipsters are killing me....
This is a phenomenon that exists in other geographies and times as well. I remember my band playing the Uptown Bar in mpls in the late 80s/early 90s. Basically, you're playing to a bunch of musicians who are mad that they're not touring (I know, I affected the attitude many many times myself). They ...

I meant to say: He might know someone who can. I don't think he can himself.
