You might also make sure your record allocation is set to something lower than happens with a new install. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Have you added plugins besides the stock Digi ones?

Thanks for all the responses! I'll consider these. My first thought was something that would emulate MS stereo, though my experiments haven't yielded what I'd hoped. If he had tracked a DI too, this would be a lot easier. I've had decent luck with that. I haven't tried doing a re-amp thing yet, sinc...

Making a mono guitar into a stereo one.

I did a record a while ago, with a very good guitarist that has VERY specific ideas of what he wants, and is very particular about the performance. He also wanted the guitars to be done in 1 performance, and not double tracked. I tracked the record with mock stereo guitars, done with 2 amps/cabinets...

What do you hear?

Hi folks. Here's a recent mix. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Remember how the Jetsons just talked to each other over their big screen? I think it'll be like that. THE appliance. It does everything. Entertainment, work, phone, music. All through voice command or whatever. It'll be fun to tell our grandkids about tape, and computers that took up whole rooms, et...

You're right, I'm sure. Seems weird that since iMovie... one of their regular apps... requires you to hook up a video camera, that they would keep the port for it.

That's senseless!! It seems like firewire has gained mass acceptance. It works well, and so much out there uses it. Why axe it now? I just bought a used 2.2 GHz Black Macbook. Glad I did.

(Love it too!!)

Gotta say, I actually think PT works really well. I've tried other DAW's, and none were as intuitive to me, and some seemed overly complicated. As the poster before me said, watch for a 002. They can be had pretty cheap, are reasonably expandable as far as inputs go, and if you need the preamps to b...

how bout Reverb-1? Any info on that? Also, with mix system, going outside into a Lexicon is always nice I'm curious about that one. I haven't found a lot of reports one way or another. I'm actually trying an odd setup to see if it works. I've got an old MBox, and I was thinking I might try to use i...

I've been running Mix era systems for years now, and they work well for me. The downside is definitely the 888/24's, which leave much to be desired, but are useable. My plan is to save for a Lynx Aurora 16, and use it via AES into the 888's, and if/when it comes time to upgrade to an HD system, I'll...

Looks like they re-worked the eq, which would be good. The eq on mine kind of blows. The compressor is usable, and the pre works for some things. It'd be interesting to know what they changed.

i will be running the last version of OSX that 6.4.1 will allow. 10.3.4 was the last that was supported, though I know many people run it on 10.3.9. If I were going to mix only, I'd be more likely to go with the Mix stuff over the 002. More bussing, etc. I've stuck with 10.3.4, and it's been solid ...

I'm running 2 Mix3 systems.. one at home, and one at my studio, and they've been fantastic for years. The 888/24 doesn't sound too hot, but is usable. There are still very usable plugins available, but reverbs are few and far between if you're using OSX. I finally got an 002 so I could work with hig...
