I use a Korg TR-Rack for basically the exact same purposes. They run about $250 on the 'bay. It has onboard effects, and they are nice, but also fairly easy to turn off. Though you are going to want to keep the rotary speaker effect on the b3 once you hear it. :D You can hear sound samples here: htt...

In other news, my lust to be a better musician and play with better musicians is not at all slaked when I hear recordings like this.

Thanks a lot.

It's been said before by much smarter people than me: If you can't capture it with a 57 and a mackie maybe it's time to re-examine the music.

Good call! I can't believe I never thought of that either.

I bet that would also work with the TC M300 I've got in my rack. Just keep the effects turned off and you've got another stereo pair in via SPDIF.

I always love when hi-fi marketing write ups aren't aware of the profound differences between "chords" and "cords." Oh my god. I hadn't even caught that I was so blown away by the price tag! That makes it 14x funnier to me. are there people who buys these things? No kidding. I wonder that too. Espe...

Great deal on an RCA to XLR balancer --- only $3,300!!!

Every time I inadvertently end up on an audiophile site I just have such a laugh that I can?t help but passing it on others. http://soundapproach.com/ypsilon-balanced-converter-transformers-p-2260.html The BC1 transformers use a proprietary high performance Cobalt based amorphous core material of ve...

Okay...how about $35?

The only downside is that it's gonna cost about $20 to ship it...

Anybody in PDX want to take this off my hands? I want it off my desk!

Bumpsy!

I've gotten a few PM's about this but no one has pulled the trigger.

It's a fun little unit. You can't go wrong for the price.

I brought mine over to an impromptu jam at a friend's house last night. Played it through a delay pedal into a peavey delta blues amp.

No one could believe the huge and wide variety of sounds that were coming out of it. It's just sick.

Everyone left wanting to buy one.

Nuff said.

I got one of these two weeks ago. Both me and my two-year-old love it. A little chorus and delay and the thing sounds **huge**. Passing audio through the filter is great. I also plugged it into my Korg ES1 and had fun gating it. Ridiculous fun for the price. The CV mod looks great if you want to tra...

Just shop from a store with a good return policy (Mercenary, Vintage King, etc.). If you decide you don't like your first choice, send it back and pick again. Wash, rinse, repeat as necessary. At the end of the day you have learned more, gotten a mic that fits you, and only lost a few extra bucks to...

Well, you can always just pull them out of circuit and test their capacitance. See if they are still in range... I don't doubt that some maintenance is needed. See the bottom of this page for some advice on replacing field coils with permanent magnet speakers: http://www.radioremembered.org/edspeake...

Weighing in late here, but if it is working --- and sounds good --- why would you change anything? (Safety would be an acceptable answer if you are concerned that some caps are looking like they are going to blow.) Some of the color or sound you are hearing is likely related to parts that have drift...
