i bought one. so far, i love it. i use in conjunction with reaper. i'm actually tracking a rhythm section with it tomorrow (first big session with it). anyway, it sounds great, and it does everything i would want. the two bummers are: 1. no adat (though it does have spdif) 2. the monitoring options ...

what can i do with an extra tube mic power supply?

i got a really good guitar sound today

we were tracking a rhythm guitar track along with a scratch vocal, and had planned on replacing both after getting drums and bass. it was nothing fancy, just a thinline tele into an epi valve jr. instead of a 57 i used my new avantone snare mic. anyway, the sound was really just perfect, and those g...

listen to cd's through firewire interface with monitors?

so i'm not too smart with computers, but i need to be able to listen to reference cd's on my monitors, which are plugged into my tubefire interface. i'm running reaper on an imac, so it seems like there should be some way to have itunes play on my monitors. i don't have the money for a masterlink or...

why me?

so i dropped the hammer and got the ART tubefire. it looks awesome. very attractive. however, immediately upon installing cubase 4, my computer began crashing. and by "began," what i mean is that it kept rebooting itself over and over again. i finally managed to get it to stop long enough to put in ...

electro voice cardinal

so i went ahead and picked one up. i'm pretty happy with the limited stuff i've done with it thus far (uke, female vocals, double bass). my preamp sucks, so i'm eager to try it through something else, but i'm pretty happy with it. it's also a very attractive piece of gear. the main reason i mention ...
