Amen, there's nothing like a Tape Op/PotLuck Con. It's like visiting a planet that makes sense.

I'm psyched they're doing the mono mixes as well. And I'm relieved to hear they're not participating in the loudness wars and only used no-noise minimally.

I wish they were hybrid SACDs, though!

Replacement speaker for Moviola URS

I recently picked up a Moviola URS and it's definitely an awesome little tube amp BUT the speaker is shot and has to go.

Does anyone know of a good replacement speaker that will work well and fit into the cramped space inside?

+1 I have the Sony PCM-D50 & I love it! The built in mics sound great, line in recordings are easily done because of the loads of headroom this unit has. More expensive than the zoom & worth it. 4 gigs of memory built in, USB 2.0 computer interface. Battery life is amazingly good as well. Try it, yo...

How is M/S done? I know the microphone side of the process but it's the "conversion" part that has made me shy away.

What do you need to do to the signals once the mics are set up?

Here's a suggestion: In the letters section, can the letter/question be designed (bolded, for instance) such that it contrasts more from the responses/answers? Often, If I'm checking out a question that I'm not interested in reading the answer to (yes, it happens) or if I stop reading in the middle ...

I had about an hours worth of tour and saw it all except 'The Penthouse'. We started with tea in the canteen which has significantly changed since those Beatles pictures you see of them eating in there... as well as the footage of Floyd eating in there from 'Live At Pompeii'. From there we made our ...

I took a tour of Abbey Road last month and they had the TG console in the control room of studio three. The halls are lined with assorted tape machines they keep to handle anything that may come up. Their mic room is completely surreal. They have so many of everything it's just overwhelming. What I ...
