I like a mic on both...I never use a DI anymore. It never ends up making the mix. The 10" covers anything the DI might catch and the 15" covers the stuff that rattles the trunk! Only problem is that the stuff I love the 15" for usually gets lost in mastering:( but the 8s" on my SWR baby blue were my...

Re: Best Gear/Rig Suggestions for Live Vocal efx?
in the past i've been using the house mic with an XLR-->1/4" adaptor-->boss DD6-->house DI, but this has failed numerous times. Sometimes the FOH signal is too low or i get a crazy buzz or the FOH signal is distorted etc. Unreliable at best. Is there a pedal out there that you folks use? One with X...

I don't know about new heads but OrbitElectronic....http://www.orbitelectronix.com/ seems to do about everything else. SO for about $375 + about $250 + the cost of a fucked up Space Echo You should still be able to get a great machine for less than a fulltone TTE In my opinion there is nothing like ...

like.......a phaser:) A little delay coupled with some modulation mixed with a dry signal and you will start to get 3 demensional.....and you're not even into the sexy world of reverbs yet! this stuff helps give you some depth(pushing away),while some nice compression touches will help bring some th...

I'm always messing with everything at the same time:) I will say that after faders the panning is obviously the most important part of the mix. just a hair can really clear up a mix and save from over EQing. And when effects come in the panning will change with the panning of the effects. say a voca...

I would save 2K and buy the Apex 460
Which according to this it's the same mic
http://recordinghacks.com/articles/tele ... omparison/
The Apex are pretty good for the price but I would be bummmmmed if I paid $1200 each (or whatever they are?)

can computer speakers really kick ass?
I just got a new home PC and I would like some speakers that don't make me want to puke listening to them. It would be even better if I actually enjoyed listening to them.....Even better than that it would be great to be able to check mixes on them (since I don't even have a real home stereo anymore...
