I didn't catch that the inside out wall was finished. I was assuming that there's be another layer of rock on that inside. In the OP case, since he's using metal studded frame, there's still be the same issue of attaching the insulation to the metal studs no matter if the wall is inside out or tradi...

If you're just deciding what to do, my suggestion would be to definitely do the corner treatments. I've done the superchunks and they're great. Also, the RFZ trick with the mirrors for the mix position is cool. Some sort of cloud over the drum kit position as well. After that, just listen. You might...

FS: JBL Urei Yamaha Tama - Pre ebay sale
I've got a bunch of stuff that I'd much rather sell to someone here than on ebay. I've got pics on all. Just let me know and I'll send them: Urei 6260 Power Amp...great sounding fanless amp for the studio. Matches very well with the JBL monitors. You can find the owners manuals with all info on jbl'...

FS/FT: Yamaha NS-10T Pair
I've got a pair of the NS10T models. Very similar to the "M", but actually better sounding. Google them and you'll see a few prominent folks that comment on them being better than the "M" model. I won't bore you with all the details as you can look them up yourself. With the prices on the others goi...

FA: Gibson Mandolin - late 40s
This is the mandolin you want for your studio...end of story. It's got "the" sound. The only one's I've heard that sound better start about four times the price of this one. It's killing me to have to sell it, but a round badge Gretsch kit has my name on it and I've got to move something quick. Beli...

The Urei amps that were sold new with these are the ones that the factory meant to match with them. I run my old 4410s with a 6260. ...they can be found used and typically in that price range. A bit higher, but still close. Here's a link to the data sheet on the entire range of 6200 amps from JBL/Ur...

I made one with really simple parts from Lowes and an evenings time with a friend. We made a 4'x8' rectangle box with three 1"x4" boards. One board was cut in half. Screw hooks were put int he corners. We stappled in so cool looking fabric to the inside. Pink insulation was rolled in the the box on...

Help me brainstorm on hanging my absorbers
I tried to come up with a lighter weight 2'x4'x4" absorber for my walls and tried to use pegboard for the backs. I'm just making some 4" thick to mount right on the wall. Well, I wasn't thinking and the little eye screws that I normally use pull right out from the weight of the board. Anyone have an...

Most mentions of this are very good. I recently picked one up as it was fairly cheap, but haven't tried it out too much. I was thinking about trying it on a room mic for drums. Added bonus...it's got a mic pre on it as well. probably sort of lo-fi, but maybe in a good way to squash and dirty drums u...

I have a NAD preamp that is switchable for either MM or MC turntables. That might or might not be important to you, but if you ever wanted to be able to work with any hi-fi turntable, this would be a big plus. I'd let it go for $100. If you're not familiar with NAD, they're a high end European manuf...

valco made...probably made in the 50s. I've got two or three of them that are all Valco made....killer. I'd say tune it to open G and have a go at it. Someone recently contacted me from NYC looking for one. I seem to think it was a fairly famous player....If I remember I'll let you know. They were r...

If you really want to go all out on the drum mics...which I do...love to have choices. Get enough Oktava 012's to cover all toms. They're great if you want a little more hi-fi sound. I still though reach for dynamics with drums. RE20 on kick, MD421 on toms and a 57 or beyer 201 on snare. Beyer M88's...
