No, it doesn't. I makes the noise when a cable is plugged in and the pre is turned up. Not even all the way, either- just to about 9 o' clock and you can hear it.

Mbox line-in noise/ whine

I don't use it that often but I just noticed the line-in input of my Mbox is genereating a tone (around 600Hz) when I have a cable pluged into it. I tried different cables but it's still there. I think it's in the pre. Anyone else run into this? Know of a wway to fix it? I opened it up and the solde...

Yeah, there is that, too, but I know some of them are the original backing tracks.

I can't imagine a plugin like that doing anything other than removing the A+B audio from a track and also rendering you without snare and kick, but then I've never used anything like that. I thought real karoke songs were actual mixes put out with the lead vocals muted.

Personally, I think it's ok to use a low fi guitar, amp, vocal, or drum sound but you should at least mix it well. Like Queens Of The Stone Age. It has a low fi element to it but it doesn't take away from the listening experience, it adds to it.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I used to share a rehearsal studio with a shitty punk band and the drummer had a whole sweater inside his snare. Holy shit did that sound fabulous.

The ISP will cut off your service? That's fucked. They provide you connection to the internet, what the hell do they have to do with what you use it for?

Screw that. Just record outside. Actually, I read somewhere that Stone Temple Pilots were unhappy with their drum sounds on Tiny Music so they moved the drums outside to record. If it's really quiet outside that's not a bad idea. Also, the new Sigur Ros dvd, they did some live songs outside and it ...

I think I see your problem. I remember reading a Steve Albini interview where he said that most people think 23.5:1 is the correct ratio for drums, but it's actually 25.3:1. I tried that the next day and I was totally blown away by the huge improvement in my drum sound. hahahahaha! that's hilarious.

"All reverb effect is strictly from the tube stage" sounds like total bullshit to me?
That's kinda what I was saying. What tube stage is he talking about? He's unclear.

I think the guy worded it poorly. Maybe he means the tube stage that drives the reverb transducer is working but signal stops there. Maybe he was implying what stage it was that drives the spring transducer and forgot to mention which one it actually is. I don't know. Seems like an incomplete statem...

Definately wipe the drive before you install windows. I once reinstalled without wiping and it still kept my last login and partition even through I picked the option to over-write all that stuff. Just start from a clean slate.
