You may consider hiring a small army to defend the outer walls from potential agressors. Insurance don't cut it now days....

guitar and amp in a live room. guitarist stands right next to the amp. amp is on 11, LDC room mics are in use as well as close LDC mics. sounds like they used big time compression to me. i don't think it's the e-bow or any other gimmick other than the standard studio trickery of the day. they certai...

heres an idea. i've never done this, but... if you're having problems with a drummer bashing the cymbals too hard, go ahead and close mic from underneath with the bottom heads removed on the toms. angle the snare mic down a little sharper.. then roll off the bottom end with the overheads and use the...

who makes the neve clone eq's and api urs? A company called "URS" makes some vst eq's. They modeled them after the pultec, neve and api modules. There's one in there that looks kinda like an older ssl eq. ill have to read the manual. i don't use it that much. i mainly use the api and neve eq's. the...

Re: Must have VSt plugins.
i use the stock plugs that came with cubase and tracktion2. call me crazy, but i like to get it right at the source. if you do this, you'll get great results with just about any plugin, if you apply it right. those hard to spell plugins that start with a "k" are pretty great as well. i use them from...
