Power supply tech questions
Hi Team I have a couple of these old Pollish pre's ( a lot like the Siemans V276) that I am racking up. The pre's don't require balanced power (24 vdc), but I have a great power suppy that is +/-24 vdc. Can I run the power supply with just +24 volts, or do I need to run both +24 and -24 at the same ...

Re: Why I Hate Jeff Robinson
Jeff you are brilliant. I too am a partner in a label. We are a small label and yet get about twenty of these things (unsolicited demos) every month. I respect them, I listen to them and I try to respond to all of them. Are you telling me that I can upgrade my studio with the revenue that they bring...

Re: Why I hate the tapeop messageboard
I think that we should break up the message board and get new jobs and hobbies. I hear that computer programmers make good money.

Re: cleaning guitar strings
Is there a reason why you would want to keep these stings? I'd be careful about putting strange chemicals on the guitar.

I'd rather use a 4033 over an NT-2...even.

Re: know anything about these Big Muff Mods??
It looks to me that they are making it a true bypass pedal. Ever notice that the big muff colors your sound even when you are not using it? If this is true, it's a great idea. That is my biggest gripe with the muff.

Machine work for the rack
Hello Team Does anyone out there build his or her own custom rack-mountable boxes? I'm looking for someone who can build one for me. I have two seimens pre's that I want to house in a rack. I just need someone who can cut the holes in the box. If any of you do this as a hobby, I would love to "trade...

Good question...anyone?
Things have been a little sticky in my basement this summer and I'm starting to notice that my trusty Soundcraft TS-12 is acting a little funny. Funny like Bob Saget not like Steve Martin.

I'm a big fan of the Oktava ML-52 ribbon on a guitar amp, sounds just like the source.

Re: anyone used the event 20/20 bas monitors?
For monitors in that price range. I suggest just buying a pair, (I have the 20/20's) any pair, and learn how to use them. Understand how they sound and you can mix with confidence on them. Then down the road you will out grow them and need another pair in a higher price range. Learning the speakers ...

Re: WTB Stereo Spring reverb
Hi Gargantuan I like the ML-52 a lot, esp. on electric guitar. When I use this on guitar, it sounds just like the source. I have limited experience with ribbons, but for the price (I paid 249.00) It's amazing. Sounds nice as the fig 8 in a MS set up for drums too. Sorry to hi-jack the thread. Tony, ...

Re: Line Conditioning/Spikes
I'm in Oregon but we can lease a surge protector from the power company that they connect right after the meter. This way no major spikes will make it into the house. It would be worth looking into. Here you can put it on the electric bill and pay for it over a long period of time. I also use the ra...
