I like my Marshall ms-2, it's small enough to fit in a guitar case and runs on 1 9-volt battery. It has a headphone jack, and the clean sound is pretty decent, if quiet. The distortion is cool cheese. The knobs are flat and a bit recessed, too and the case is hard and thick- it'd be a difficult box ...

Those prices are for each lot - that's 4 reels of 1/2" for 50 or 6 of 1/4" for 100!

1/4" and 1/2" 456 tape for sale

Clearing out the garage time... 4 reels of 456 1/2" tape, with hubs, sides and boxes. 3 are Ampex, 1 is Quantegy. This is used tape (no splices). These look fine, other reels from this batch (I think I bought 7 originally) were fine, but I haven't had a 1/2" deck in over two years so I can't test. 5...

You Tube upload... how to get rid of underwater sound?

So I uploaded a video to You tube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdCaQV2TcRQ

...and it arrived in Internet land with a high-frequeny phasing sound that's very unpleasant. How do I avoid this for future uploads?

I know it's easier to twist my words into argument-worthy, over-simplified slogans... But, c'mon.... Allow me to clarify. "Love it or leave it" was a phrase used in the 60's by American reactionaries as a rejoinder to the demands of the liberals of the time (civil rights, nuclear disarmament, free ...

If you don't like how the government spends your money, then you have a chance to voice your opinion about that each and every time an election rolls around. If you can't get any satisfaction out of that process (I'm a liberal in Oklahoma, believe me, I understand), then you can either stay and kee...

I gotta take exception to the black and whiteness of what Subatomic is saying. If you loan out your laptop to a friend for a month and he gives you $50 for your trouble should you report that on your taxes? Technically, yes. That's income. Legally, it's not your choice to make. You're supposed to d...

I've been looking for a Juno 106 myself. If you're looking at a Juno-106, be careful. Check it over in person and make sure all the voices work. The filter and amp chip on those things are well past their use life. Make sure it holds patches as well. I've looked at three 106s in the last two years a...

Look, all these folks that read Tape Op and decide it's only about certain music styles or think they have ANY FUCKING IDEA the limits of my listening habits are fucking SO FULL OF THEIR OWN BS that I shouldn't even have to comment. I was listening to electronic music when the idea of a polyphonic ...

G&L Legacy. Great quality, lots of sounds...and none of them sound right. No life in those pickups. My amps don't like them, or something. Turbo Rat. Muddy, and the knobs are just too goddamned sensitive. MFOS modular. Maybe it's my build skills, but I used good components, and everything works. It...
