Re: YOU'RE the engineer, what would you do?
Okay wel let me ask you this now. What sort of sound are you looking for? Similar to what this other person achieved? Something totally different? Do you want spacious drums, close drums, "modern" drums, etc. Pardon all the questions of you but it only helps us help you. Unless however you are looki...

Re: I need some new music to listen to...
Sure, here are a few favourites: Rosetta Charlie Don't Shake Flatfoot Speakerphone those are two songs from the same "live" session but there is other music recorded "properly" if you're interested. North To Glory (think Air, Beach Boys, Depeche Mode), Bad Faces Clan (think Tom Waits, Neil Young, Jo...

Re: What Did You Work On Today? 1-05-05
I went on a date with my "special ladyfriend". Dinner at Tom's Oyster Bar, a hot beverage at the local cafe and a movie, Life Aquatic. I'm working on wooing her in case anyone is wondering how what I mentioned is work. Tonight will include: getting fitted for a tuxedo (best friends wedding in...

Re: Oktava sale at GC?
I couldn't look at the link (blocked at work). So do tell, are they selling the MC012s again at a "sale" price or just the MK319s? If they are selling the MC012s again then I'm going to get a pair. I kick myself everytime I think about the fact that I passed up the 2 MC012s for $99 deal and kick mys...

Re: Studio Owner SHOT.....KILLED....
I hate that this has happened and of course where does it happen, in Detroit. Further perpetuating the myth that you have to walk around this city in fear and the mentality that someone is certainly trying to find you to kill/mug/rape/carjack you....sin, I hate it.

Re: Best Wah pedal?
I have the Dunlop Crybaby wah as well and I've used an original Vox wah pedal, both get the job done.
You should hear Dana Colley (sax player from sadly no more Morphine) use it on the live version of 'All Wrong' (from B-sides & Otherwise), simply amazing.Rigsby wrote:sounds awesome on violin too.

Re: Superlux LDC mics
I was referring to their large diaphragm condensor mics actually, not the drum mic kits. They have a roll off switch but no pad which seemed odd to me until I saw the SPL rating (132-142 on those I've seen). We'll see I may be interested in picking one up but there are other mics that are higher on ...

Re: Superlux LDC mics
Ahh thank you, that is the kind of info I'm looking for...firsthand opinions of the mics and their uses. I was surprised that the LDCs had such a high SPL rating which, before I saw said SPL rating, I thought was curious that none of them had -10 or -20 dB pads installed.

Re: Superlux LDC mics
No I'm not really interested in buying any of them I just wanted to know more about them as I'd never even heard of them. They do look nice and he uses them to mic live strings at his church. Thanks for the info however.
