Re: Finally able to rack my UAD Satellites
Thanks! Based on the weight of the two units, it tends to sag if I put it in the deeply-angled rack pods of my desk. But down in the normal straight rack bays, where the units are level with the floor, it will stay straight. Frankly these never need to be touched in the rack, so I’m gonna rack them ...

Re: Latest Gear You've Un-Acquired....
yeah... not that sad over here either. I'm moving up to a Metric-Halo rig and getting another Shelford Channel out of my sales, so I'm super-stoked about these sales.

And damn! Sold my Toft ATB-16 console w/ Jim Williams 16 Plug-in-Preamp modules — had it for 12yrs / got about half my investment back in the sale. Can't complain about that.

Re: Latest Gear You've Un-Acquired....
Oh man! this is mildly embarrassing — I forgot that I actually OWN an RMI electrapiano. A neighbor gave it to me a few years ago, and though I don't have a sustain pedal for it, it's pretty cool. That said, it's huge... and it's sitting at my guitarists house in the back corner of our rehearsal spac...

Finally able to rack my UAD Satellites
I got tired of stacking these under my desk + I"m gonna be making some changes to the studio desk soon, and I'll need a safe spot out of the way for some of my computer peripherals, so I decided to hack a vented rack panel into a set of dual-ears for the UAD satellites. Had to buy a decent pair of t...

Re: Microphone ID?
It does look a little bit like a Countryman Isomax, in terms of the capsule end.

That white “pegboard” sound paneling?
I’ve seen this in many studio photos. Just curious;
Is there a product name of that white peg-board-esque sound treatment that has a randomized hole-layout?

Sold my Tascam DV-RA1000HD external stereo recorder / CD-burner. It was a great hi-res recorder that did everything up to 24/192Khz and even DSD.64 stereo formats. But I'm starting to think that maybe DSD audio isn't gonna become the predominant consumer audio format, after all  ... so I ditch...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
My curiosity got the better of me, and I finally picked up an old E-Mu Morpheus Rack synth. It's got these crazy filter systems that allow constantly-morphing synth textures to be created. The front-panel UI isn't super fast, but some guy wrote a free MDID utility for Mac & PC that allows me to edit...

Re: Leather Pouch for Shure SM7B?
I finally gave up on "Leather", which I only really wanted because all of my other mic bags are leather (or faux leather — whatever the standard Shure SM58 bags are made of). Anyway, I ended up going with a nylon zipper bag from Klein Tools, model 5139b (it was only $10). It's 12.5" long and it's ju...

Re: Do Plug-ins have to be "blessed" as "Apple Silicon Native"? to run properly on M1xxx?
Their page specifically states: "All DMGAudio plugins are compatible with M1/ARM macs (native)" 'doh! Okay, this example is now a bit embarrassing: For some reason, my brain COMPLETELY ignored the first line, and my eyes were drawn to the more-general "Intel or Apple Silicon Mac" — which (now that ...

Do Plug-ins have to be "blessed" as "Apple Silicon Native"? to run properly on M1xxx?
I'm not sure I'm 100% reading everything correctly as I look up app & plug-in compatibilities, ahead of my next (later this year or early next year) computer purchase... and I'm wondering if anyone else knows the definitive answer (or if my question is what's broken): I know that "apps" (like our DA...

Grabbed a stream deck XL. This thing is crazy-useful!
Still slowly adding shortcuts to it as I run into repeat functions in PT & Logic.

VNC server for Apple macOS 9
This might seem really silly... but I'm posting this here in case there's ever someone (like me) who's looking for a way to control a vintage Mac over their network. I happen to be one of those folks who uses a vintage Powerbook with a very specific PCI-hosted (in an old MagmaPCI chassis) synth card...

Re: Low passing drum overheads
Just throwing in a “hell yes!” For dynamic eq in general on drums.
I use it for damping harshness, beefing up snare, and then I also use it on other low end tracks, keyed off of kick and snare, to allow them to sneak/cut through better.
