Rehearsal studio in Portland?

Anyone have any recommendations for a rehearsal studio in Portland. Would need 2 or 3 days with a decent enough small PA (probably can get away with 12 channels, but would like 3-4 monitor mixes) Also would be great if they could except a rok-it-cargo shipment before band arrives.

Thanks

If it were me I would solo the vocal mic eq and compress etc.. to sound as good as you possibly can (what ever that takes). Then add the other elements in around it. The bleed is there don't try and fight it embrace it.

I have had good luck with sennheiser 935s. Liked it much better then the 87a. I've heard it compared to a 421, no direct comparisons that I've done though. Was in a similar situation as you described, we tried just about everything and settled on the 935 even over the neumann handhelds. good luck

Pro Tools Chops

Hey everyone, I dumped Pro Tools awhile back for Logic. Recently got back into Pro Tools mainly because....its what everyone else uses. Find myself about 50% slower when using PT (struggling for shortcuts I once knew etc.) and am looking for resources to get me back up to speed. Youtube videos, book...

Al Schmitt just answered this question over at gearslutz his answer: "I use two Neumann M 149s on the bass, one on the f hole and one up by the fingers. I put both mics into a Summit TLA and compress about one DB.Thats about it, it helps to have a good bass player with a good sounding bass." Of cour...

Saw them in DC. It was an awesome show. the fill in bass player is the singer from mother superior (pretty sure they were Henry Rollins backing band for a bit.) The "sound guy" was Mark Howard, think the amp tweaking is typical of Lanois style, you also see him messing with his delay all the time on...

Here's what I think I would do. Get an apogee duet for $500 you get nice ad and to pretty nice pres. Then I would go for an sm7 ($350) for vox and pick up a fathead for $175 for guitar.

Yes. Not just in the studio either. in the car, watching tv. Always have to make sure its in airplane mode before recording anything. its funny/annoying when whole bands have them
