A lot of old Neumann mics were T-powered as well. U77, KM76, ect. I believe that German Broadcast standards implemented T-power because it resulted in more quiet mic operation. Less RF noise. I could be mistaken though.

The Chandler TG compressor/limiter is supposed to be the bomb. I think it is priced around $3200. It is made exactly like the original EMI TG console comps/limiters.

I don't think he actually charges that much. I read in some interview with him somewhere that he only charges $400 a day to engineer. Anyone try one of these out? It is supposed to be a cardioid only version of their C-12 reissue, with the same 6072a tube. $3000 is pretty steep though. I want a real nice vocal mic.
