Re: tests

whichever position has most low end is the one that is in phase. if the sound is thin... then you can assume the polarity is not correct. If you only have one mic picking up a particular source, flipping the polarity will have no effect on the amount of low end. How could it? There's nothing else t...

Re: Arranging the band on stage...

Question: How do I efficiently arrange 13 musicians into four stage monitors? They actually are quite good when they're not disagreeing among themselves. Their only consensus is my awesome sound and how much smoother things go when I'm there. Thank you all for your help. + 1 on Greggs comments. The...

Oh - assistant engineer - that's different. Never mind....

Running four wires from the speaker is shorting the output of the power amp together and NOT a good thing to even try. Why are you thinking of doing this? Do you need the extra power? IF the amp will run bridged(as described above), you will essentially double the power, but that only means a 3db in...

It's a classic, check it out.

I liked Asia (saw them twice) like we like, you know, a tablespoon full of sugar, but UK (especially and mostly the first album) are like dining on prog rock steak. Hmm - That's one I don't have. I saw Holdsworth(his band) twice live and was unbelievably impressed. Love him on the Bruford and Gong ...

Has anyone ever made these out something other than wood, like closed cell foam or something? I'm not sure how that would affect the reflection and hense the diffusion, though. It just seems like there should be an easier, lighter way than wood.
