awesome

Wow. Thanks everyone! This is great. I'm feeling really good... just came home from a really good gig. I played a small room... so small that I played my Martin D-18 with no pick, un-plugged. People loved it. I'm feeling energized again. I had people dancing, singing, clapping and playing drums on t...

wavelength...

that is SO weird...

when I first read the song title, "Surrender" by Cheap Trick was the song I started singing in my head.. then I realized it too, just as you did in your post.

Great minds think alike... and so do we.

Thanks for the songs friends.

15 Indispensable Songs

I received a gift card for $15 at iTunes. Woo hoo! I'm rich! Please offer 3 (brutally hard I know) must have songs and give your reason. I'm open to all genres, all eras, but what I'm looking for are iconic songs that represent a genre or era to you. You know, stuff no self respecting music person s...

Thank you for the suggestions. Thanks to all the input, I've now got a plan. I'm going to have one conduit bring power to the center of the desk via a side of room outlet. This shouldn't be a problem... the conduit merely keeps the power cord off the floor. A second conduit, at least two joist bays ...

performance tuning Mac OSX

Two steps have helped me: 1. When I'm going to be tracking or mixing I don't need eye candy, so I go to System Preferences > Displays and choose "Thousands" instead of "Millions" of Colors. 2. When in the finder window with a folder chosen, I go to View > Show View Options and make sure that "Calcul...

good to know...

I suspected as much. Thankfully, the final electrical inspection has been done. I don't think I need to run them both in the same conduit, but now I know to definitely avoid it. Many thanks.

Thank you

Thank you very much. I'm a little relieved. How about this... will there be any problem running mic cables and power cables in the same conduit? Any interference issues to consider. I love this board. Many thanks. Ben.

Round-About Conduit & Cable Length

I have a new space I'm finishing above our new garage. It's all framed up and I'm doing a lot of the work to finish the space myself. The dimensions are 15' wide, 21 feet long, 9' ceiling. I have an opportunity to put a cabling conduit (3" pvc) under the sub floor before I drywall the garage below. ...

the mix

You're qualified... don't doubt yourself. To my ears, the most important thing to get right is having the voice sit in the mix. You do this very well. I've listened now on my MacBook Speakers, Computer speakers with sub woofer, Bose Cans and on my monitors. Sounds good to my ears on all. Your voice ...

Great work

This is a very good pop song. Sounds like the soundtrack to a sit com, almost too polished for my taste. I liked your earlier one better... but this has very high production value. The synth isn't my favorite... it's an anachronism for this song. It turns the head a little... like, where did that ea...

I like it!

Your voice is awesome... slightly Rufus Wainwright-y. I agree about the low end. A really thick bass, sliding up and down the fret board would sound great on this. The song is well written and I like both the production and the arrangement... hard to believe it's from a project studio. Is it? Sounds...
