Steve Barncard

Hello Tapeop,
Would you run an interview with Steve Barncard, find out what he's been doing since making American Beauty and other Bay Area records? Maybe Dan Healy or Bob and Betty? How about a few words from Ousley?
Thanks,
Ricky
P.S. Love this magazine.

Its taken months to read through this book and just now got to Sgt. Pepper phase in the "Production" chapter. Brian and Kevin have made the dream journey a million of us have wanted to make and have been more thorough than 999,998 of us could have been. They seemed to have gained the confindence of ...

Has anybody here tried the Dark Star pickups? I think they are made by Hammond engineering or electronics. They are based on a Hagstrom design used in Guild basses played by Casady and Lesh.

going home to Tape

Been recording my friends with PTLE PC for the last 3 years its fast and fairly cheap. After going to a once famous studio being revived with analog gear, I was inspired to dust off my 1/2"- 8, 1/2"-4, and 1/4"- 2. track otari machnes. I put up some tapes made before the PT rig came in the room, and...

Nearly 30 years ago I bought a precision bass that had been discoed. Jazz neck, body routed for a baddass bridge and rear split pickup. the pickups were dimarzio. I spent the next 25 years changeing the parts I didn't like. Replaced Jazz neck for a Japanese rosewood Precision, Filled in the rear pic...

Thanks for the info. I installed Windvd 4 and even though audio would not pass when using its player, i think some of the drivers installed with it are being used by Windows Media Player.so now I get moving pictures with sound.

Giveing the Liteon writer a test drive as a player the video played fine but no audio. the computer uses the 002r as its sound card. The dvd burner is installed o...

You could create a folder for each song and export only the bwf. audio files from each song that you want the mixer to use. Drag the song folders into your cd burning program and create data discs for each song. That way the mixer can create a session on their daw for each song and import the audio ...

latency issue using outboard compressor with 002r

Came out of PTLE track into a channel of the Mackie 8 buss assigned that mackie channel to output buss with RNLA on that buss insert from that buss back into protools and had serious latency like very ugly slapback. Seems I'ld used this path before with no latency. Any ideas?

"AT TapeOpCon last year Cosimo Matassa said he used a U47 with Little Richard at J&M in New Orleans." Are you saying Cosimo Matassa perhaps doesn't remember exactly which microphone he used in the fifties? It would be of interest to know precisely but. all of the elements present when those recordin...
