Re: Bass trapping
Another good source of info is the Auralex website, download "Acoustics 101" its filled with usefull info on do it yourself room treatment. 2" Owens Corning 703 provides good bang for the buck treatment. But you need to cover it with a breathable cloth and take great care in working with it as it is...

Re: Trading sessions
My Mac friend saved it to his hard drive, it didn't seem to understand the audio file type. I talked to digidesign and was told they don't make the cd burning software so its not their problem. The Nero website sent me to Microsoft for an XP fix, which I downloaded, and when I tried to run it a mess...

Trading sessions
I'm about 4 months into Protools LE on a pc. And I took in a song saved as a data file on a cdr from my friend's MAC. Opened it with my PC rig added a bass line or two, "saved session copy in" burned it to a cdr as a data file using Nero express. When it was opened on his mac, everything looked fine...

Tapeopcon
The Tapeopcon is on and though its only 2 hours from my house i can't go this year due to work obligations etc.. Its a shame because Cosmo recorded some of the best rock and roll on the planet and it would great to hear him speak. I'll not be bummed, only take Larry Crane's advice and save for next ...

silence
My new pro tools rig is so cool, but why do i get a minute of silence after the audio stops. Do I have to set some kind of margin like a typewriter to make it stop?

Re: Opinions on late 60's/early 70's Traynor heads?
in the early 70's a friend let our little band borrow his Traynor PA, 2 short wide columns and maybe a 6 channel solid state head and it sounded better than the vocal masters that were the standard. We tried to buy one and couldn't find the same model.I think we would 've been a better band had we o...

Re: can anyone give me a list of guitar amps that are quiet
Plugged into a Yorkville ycv-40 in the music store and was knocked out by the lack of buzz hum or any noise. At 40 watts it may have too much volume for a small recording space but it had such a clean vibrant sound I want it. This store is in an old building and all the other amps hummed don't know ...

The morality card is such a cheap trick by the Bushies, Rush and his ilk are so much more offensive with their saber ratteling, it comes down to control and promoting thier money making agenda. Freedom is on the run. If you don't want to know which celebrities go anal. Switch over to fox and Bask in...

A/D I/O for 002r
Always enjoy the clever conversation about mic preamps for DAW's, Will someone chime in about converters to feed the digital adat inputs on the 002r? i would like to come out of the buss outputs of my Mackie 8-buss.so i don't think mic pres are essential, maybe something with 8 trs inputs and the ad...

Re: how to get the bass to sound a little punchier in the mi
Don't know what kind of bass sound you're going for, but it seems that you start with a bass, amp, speaker,or preamp, di, combination to get the tone you want, and record it to reproduce that sound. Get the sound and take as accurate a picture that you can. I have a friend with an older Modulus(sic)...

Re: Good analog 8 track recorders ?
Been using a MX5050 mk3 8-track and have only cleaned the heads, tape guides. replaced the pinch roller and to my ears it sounds pretty good. I even dumped a tune into a friends digi001 and it sounded great and with his plug ins got really cool sounds on the bass and drums. Indicating to me that the ...
