Micing an acoustic at the 12th fret is common because it sounds good for many of the uses of acoustic guitar in modern music. However, it is not an accurate representaiton of the instrument. If you bypass the pres and converters (totally), the unit (although lobotomized) works great. That's kind of sad. ;-) Well, I suppose it is.
