- Topic: Logic Question on Muting Takes

It has been years since I've touched 6.4, but I *think* when you hit 'stop' after finishing recording, Logic automatically has all of the just recorded tracks selected. I think just hitting the 'm' button mutes them all. To make new track with the same audio objects I think was 'apple+return' with w...

I got a $99 SX dual humbucker strat to chop up for a project, and was definitely amazed at what you get for the money. I liked the neck a lot. The wood was decent, and it had a good tone. Bad electronics, but what do you want for $99? I also have a Agile V, and it is very well crafted. The neck is v...

I'm not sure which to suggest, but bear in mind that a MDD G4 can hold 4 full size HD's without modification, where the intel macmini has a 5400rpm laptop sized hd in it. If you are a big external firewire drive type of person, that could work, but being able to put 4 7200rpm drives in the G4 has it...

I don't do a ton of midi work, but I've been on a mac with logic for a while now, and I did have some problems ages ago; but no timing issues for years. I feel like one of the older versions of logic had a midi resolution setting that was the culprit. Don't quote me on that, since it was a small pro...

A spike in voltage, or a hard knock can short out the firewire bridge in firewire hard drive enclosures. I've had that problem with a couple of Lacies. They just stopped working. The drive inside was fine, but the bridge was gone. A good friend of mine recently connected his macbook to his g4 tower ...

Have you tried any other firewire devices? Is the drive not showing up in the system profiler under the firewire section? You may have a bad firewire cable, blew out the firewire bridge in the drive, or blew out the firewire in your mac mini. Worst case scenario, the firewire in the mini is blown ou...

And before you say "get a used one," let me tell you, it's flippin' hard to find a used lefty LP. I hear you! It took me years of looking to get a good one. I found this one recently on ebay. Although I'm not into buying guitars on ebay, when I go to intruments.ebay.com, I put '(lefty,handed,lefy,l...

While you may have better luck with John Charrette, I had a recent experience that was somewhat disconcerting. I had heard a lot of good things about him before going to him with an amp issue. I have 3 20 year old Randall RG guitar amps, which all have the identical circuit board and components. In ...

I see your point. Just an aside, Jimi Hendrix wrote right handed, but obviously played lefty; so you may be onto something. I was always under the impression that the dominant hand is stronger, and the other is the more dexterous. I've always compared holding a pick to writing or drawing in my mind,...

I'm left handed, and tried; really tried to play right handed when I first started playing guitar. What would take days to get right while playing right handed, took minutes when I simply flipped the guitar over and played lefty, even with the strings backwards. I couldn't get around playing left-ha...

The lack of left handed guitar availability has always astounded me. I mean, in the age of widespread CNC use (computer/CAD controlled routing) in the making of guitars, how hard can it be to 'mirror' a CAD file? I know that left handed guitars make up only the tiniest fraction of guitar sales world...

I have both a DIY iso box and Guitar Rig; and I almost never ever use Guitar Rig. Only on synths it seems. There's something to a real amp for me. In my home studio, if i need to get a room sound for a guitar, I do it in the daytime. If I want to record at night, I use the iso box. I'm pretty happy ...
