HAHAH...sound level 2...boom.

I love how he lists all his mic models except for his Neumanns.

Actually, I find his Discography to be more funny than the entire site

24 bits will get you 256x the dynamic range of 16 bit. Thats a big deal.
Mike
. 16 is 256 X bigger than 8. I think this is true too.

Re: Bit rate.

I should add, if your burning a 24-bit to a CD (16) you will add dither, and the effect of 24-bits will be brought to a minimum. so, all CDs (right now) are 16-bit. something to think about

Re: Bit rate.

bits can be very simple. they are just a measure of dynamics on recrord. In theory the 'silence' on 144dB is softer.
simply take the bitrate and multiply by 6 and thats maximum dynamic range in dB

16bits(6)=96dB
24bits(6)=144dB

:D
sure, you can get in depth.but thats about all you need to know

Hey (here we go)! Uhummm. Behringer.. ..makes a noise reduction unit called the SNR 2000 that's single-ended and does a pretty decent job. I've used it with good results. :ar15: .. okay, I'm off and running now! But seriously it's ok (IHMO) yeah this is actually one..check it out...even t...

Re: John Bonham hour

Alright, since Dave brought it up... Until recently, Dave had copies of drum tracks pulled off THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES of "Whole Lotta Love." Dave got these from a pretty cool source and all I've got to say about them is that they're fucking unbelieveable. I've checked out the MP3s posted recentl...

Re: Buying a bass cabinet. Should I get a 1x15 or a 4x10?

a 4x10 is way more versitile and will still have tons of meat. get a 15" as an upgrade down the road if thats possible. then youd be really smokin I recommend mixing a bass DI as well as a good miced cabinet for the mixdown. the DI will get the 'bass'. the mic will get the actual 'tone' of the instr...
