another vote for the 3630 --- I don't understand why everyone hates this compressor so much.

Also, I LOVE the little DBX 163x half rack compressors. I don't know if people dis these or not, but they are way underrated IMO.

I'm going to disagree with those that are cautioning you against this method. Go for it! I've used it consistently for years and I never felt like there were phase issues making it counterproductive.
