Dredg- El Cielo
This album is beautifully written, performed, and recorded. I would love to have been in the studio watching mic choice and placement. Those who have heard it know what i'm talking about. Ron St. Germain produced, Michael Rosen, Jim Scott, and Tim Palmer engineered. It's really worth checking out. I...

Re: Recording Schools Worth It?
I went to full sail. I learned a whole lot there. I also learned a lot in the studio. There were many there that felt like fullsail was going to get them a job or they would be treated with more respect. I work for a major record label now in marketing and doing occasional production work (gigs i ge...

Re: Why can't I hear the drums anymore in today's music??!
when was the last time a drummer of a mainstream alternative (oxymoron?) band made a name for himself? Who's the drummer for Staind? or for Three Doors Down? Anybody know without looking at allmusic? Drummers aren't part of the musical creative process anymore. Even Ringo had some input. Guys like ...

Re: New Age for Mastering Music
Remember...the demo is in 8 bit so you don't get the sound quality. The demo just shows you the controls and how you interact with them. This is why I think you may have not liked it, because the demo sounds bad. I have the full and use it on every track that gets sent my way. It's not ALL I use, bu...

Re: What is this?????
I really think that this is a piece of audio gear. Mainly because of the meticulous manner in which the tubes and electronics on the inside (email me for pic) are configured.
It is some kind of filter. I don't know if it's a low cut/high cut filter or what. HELP!

Re: Logic Users: what are you putting on the master output b
voxengo has a plugin called TapeBus that comes in it's AnalogFlux suite. This is an amazing plugin. I suggest going and checking out the entire set at http://voxengo.com/analogflux/ I use this and then use an opto setting on the Waves rennaisance compressor (RComp). Very light settings on this thoug...

I've had a lot of luck with an ART TubePAC... You can get them used on ebay. They are out of production though. Our band tracks and practices with it for bass...great on vocals too. Great unit for the price.

Drummer needed in Orlando for rock band
Just started this great band with all the perfect pieces. We're choosing between 2 names right now. The sound of our band is somewhere between radiohead, travis, and old jazz. Interesting stuff. Influences are waay broad. I love jazz...but this is a melodic rock band with jazz and electronic influen...
