Re: Anyone feel like a Max/MSP group buy?
The current situation for those who haven't checked kvraudio: It turns out that Cycling74's bulk discounts are only for institutions and single people hoarding copies (ie, you only get one license for all the copies, but it's a license to let you run lots of copies). If they tried to offer the same ...

Re: Anyone feel like a Max/MSP group buy?
Just giving an update:
I posted over at kvraudio and they have about 15 people interested over the course of half a day (and mid-day, not even during high traffic). People over there are pretty determined that the people interested will break 100.

Re: Anyone feel like a Max/MSP group buy?
There seems to be some confusion about the platform... it's on both Windows XP and Mac OSX (with older versions for OS9). (PS: You don't know anyone who's a student and can get you a discount? Not that I suggest ripping the guys at Cycling 74 off, but I'm sure they'd rather you have a copy with the ...

Re: Anyone feel like a Max/MSP group buy?
I'll go ahead and paste the price breaks from their website: 1 ? 4 $495.00 5 ? 14 $297.00 15 ? 24 $257.40 25 ? 49 $198.00 50 ? 99 $128.70 100 + $79.20 I don't really have any idea how many people would be interested, but I can always hope. I wonder if this should be expanded to other forums like kvr...

Anyone feel like a Max/MSP group buy?
I posted this in This #%^ Computer, but I think it makes more sense here since it's not really about computer problems. I've been using PD for a year and a half now and it still blows my mind. I downloaded the trial of Max/MSP and it's even cooler (better GUI, better interfacing, better everything a...

Re: My first real full band recording... bash it please.
Wow, thanks for all the feedback! It's giving me a lot of stuff to look into. I'm just now starting to get into EQ so that should give me a lot more options once I get it figured out, such as guitar beef. The band already has their finished mixes so I'm free to do all the experimenting I want to wit...

My first real full band recording... bash it please.
I've generally been more into sound processing and design stuff than actual recording, but I finally put my equipment into recording and mixing for a friend's band. This is my first time recording more than one instrument at a time, and also my first time mixing, so keep that in mind. Please give me...

Istanbul cymbal question
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between Istanbul Mehmet and Istanbul Agop as far as quality goes (I read on Wikipedia they're the two different factories that make the cymbals)? I notice they have a lot of the same models, but the Agops are more expensive. Can I really go wrong eithe...

Re: Cleaning out my records for the first time ever
There's more demand than I expected. I updated the list, taking out those currently "wanted." If you sent me a PM then I'm currently going over whatever records you asked about to make sure they're okay before I respond. I'll let you know of any important flaws. Some records have been asked about mu...

Cleaning out my records for the first time ever
These are records I either have multiple copies of, never listen to anymore, never listened to in the first place, or for whatever reason don't want anymore. Most of them are 90's electronic stuff, but I also have some records from a sound/music library that came from an out-of-business video produc...

Re: Does X grab your attention?
Being a college student, I find myself desensitized by the use of "Xtreme" to describe EVERY SINGLE THING targeting my demographic. It now takes at least 3 X's in a row and multiple words involving such a pattern to get my attention. If it's not "XXXTREME TO THE MAXXX," then why even bother? It's ob...

Re: Faking a midi port between programs
It's a freeware sound design program. It's very similar to Max/MSP from what I've heard, incase you've used that before. It has full midi implementation and such so that it runs fine with midi controllers. I'm just trying to be able to sequence with it without needing my midi interface just so I can...
