it's funny, i work in post production as an assitant engineer. there are 4 of us where i work and one of us is a girl. the mixers we assist are all male. all very, i don't know, MALE. maybe you know engineers like this. they are irritating. there seem to be lots of them. in the past couple of months...
there's been so much buzz about these guys lately, and a lot of my friends have bought the album they just realeased. maybe because they're local. i must say that i give them an A for effort, but i find most of their songs a little boring so far. except for the cover of mr. grieves. that shit's awso...
protools assigns every audio file brought into a session a unique id, something nonsensicle like q5tgb875cvR. this is helpful. when you open up the project and protools says it can't find the files, click on "manually find and relink". when you get to the little relink menu, highlight the missing fi...
i am also a core2 user who got burned. although decent sounding, it is a finicky piece of shit that doesn't get along with anybody. i will never be able to move on to an advanced windows platform without getting a new audio interface. when i wrote their tech support and asked them if a driver would ...
the name of the bar in greenpoint (williamsburg, whatever) is MATCHLESS. it's on the corner of manhattan and driggs. i'm down with that bar or the often horrific luna lounge. it doesn't matter. anytime i make plans, i have to work. i'm a shitty foosball player anyway. ahh new york... when i got off ...
dave, the place with the foosball table: are you talking about the place that opened across from enid's? that place is great, though the only time i was there there was a clan of englishmen hoarding the foosball table. when i first moved to new york 3 years ago i lived in "east williamsburg" off of ...
i think this card sounds pretty good. i've been using it for about 3 years. but yes, the drivers can be trouble. i had no problem using it with vegas, but when i switched to cubase, it took me days to get everybody talking to each other, and i still don't really understand how i did it.
i have gotten this before. i don't know why it happens, but i start a new session and do the old "import session data" (i think it's "import tracks" in version 5) under the file menu. just select your old session and 9 times out of 10 it will come in just fine.
after the 4 track stage, i went to recording on a PC running vegas v.1. it is without a doubt the most intuitive, straightforward easy to use program out there (with the exception maybe of n-track). i switched over to cubase 5.0 eventually, but the learning curve for that program is huge. i ended up...
