Mixing boards: DIGITAL or ANALOG? ...tell me HOW MANY YOU WANT?
Why, I'll take two of each! I have PRO STUDIO to outfit!
And can someone please explain to me the "Multi V" cable? Does such a beast exist?
This site totally makes the bookmarks list.

Criminy, that's cool! It looks like it should wind up and move around. You know, like those Godzilla figurines that shoot sparks?Joel Hamilton wrote:Does it have to be EV?

Re: firewire hard drives
Just make sure you get one without a fan in it. Man, are those things annoying! I ordered one online, and it came in this godawful enclosure that was larger than a dictionary, which would have been tolerable, but the thing had a full-size computer fan in it, too, which practically shook itself off m...

Re: I need help with an article
Proper intonation and set-up would be useful for me. I'm not afraid to rewire pickups, or swap out pots or whatever, but when it comes to the neck of the guitar, I'm at a loss. I am terrified of the truss rod. I remember starting out with guitar, people would tell me stories of adjusting it too quic...

Re: Preamps for OH and general use
This is a bit off-topic, but just a question - Earthworks QTC1's on overheads? I've used a pair for room, and a pair in the kit (between the snare and rack tom, and then between the 2nd rack and floor)... they work great as rooms, and sound killer for jazz in the kit, but wouldn't they have too much...

Have you checked out Pacific Pro Audio (In Seattle) yet? I haven't been in a while, so I don't know what they have in right now... but they usually have plenty of cool stuff come through.

Re: Internships Available in Seattle
Hi, I'm currently enrolled at the Art Institute right now, and am looking for an internship while I"m still in school. I live downtown and rely on the bus, but I am free any day except Wednesday and Thursday. I don't have much experience in post, but am very comfortable around a music facility, and ...

Re: Studios in Alaska
...I too grew up in Alaska; The Anchorage scene seems pretty stable, if small. Probably the biggest local band out of there is The Roman Candles , powerpoppy stuff. Anchorage / Palmer / mat-su valley has a few decent studios. Fairbanks on the other hand is just a little too small to reach critical m...

Re: Full Sail did it again!
I think so much of one's total education in audio is what you put into it - more so than other fields. I go to the art institute of Seattle, and while I personally have learned a tremendous amount, there's plenty of students who are almost finishing the program and still can't route a signal to tape...

Re: applying for a recording school (CRAS)
Touch?. I go to the Art Institute of Seattle, and that's pretty much it. If you can pay, they'll let you in. Although on the flipside, a lot of schools do have some decent requirements (I don't know about CRAS). There's a huge list of audio schools in Mix this month that might be worth checking out....

Re: looking for a good tube amp under $500
I'd have to second (third?) the Peavey Delta Blues as well - 30 watts, 1x15, with two channels and tremelo. While I'm not so fond of the distortion channel (I prefer a Tube Screamer or some other stompbox with it), the clean and dist w/ stompbox sound great. My only gripe with it is that the tubes a...

Tracking mistake! ...Suggestions?
Hey all, I've been working with this pop rock group (ala Starflyer 59 and TZAR). We've just finished overdubs, and upon beginning a mix, I've noticed an error I didn't catch while tracking - The bass is (mildly) distorted - Not a harsh stompbox distortion, but certainly lacking the fidelity of what ...

Weezer - Blue album.
Since I'm twenty now, that puts me I think in the fifth grade when it was released. Saved up allowance money, too.
