Related news, there is also: http://www.docircuits.com/ Which is very similar in many ways to Circuit Lab, but seems to have even less people involved at the moment, and less components that have been modeled yet. But it does have some fancier looking GUI aspects, and an amusing "burn" animation if ...

Cool! Circuit Lab dot com, free browser-based circuit design
Am I late to this party? Early? Anyway, I'm thrilled to have recently bumped across this, and figure this is just the sort of thing Tape-Oppers are into, so now shared with you: https://www.circuitlab.com/ It's along the lines of LTSpice type circuit design and test software, but not nearly as in-de...

163X is indeed an excellent choice for quick and down-to-it for your application, though I wouldn't describe the 163X as junk - it's actually a great compressor at the price range. I love 163X's for all sorts of applications, reliable and fast to set up bass DI for example. Even more wonderful junk ...

Dad-gum, Dakota, but that was a solid piece of thorough analysis! If I ever need 30 independent playbacks of single, synching tracks, with appropriate monitoring in a performance application... Well, you're the Man, 50 Grand, anyway... GJ  I'd be surprised if that couldn't be done for under 5...

Really? I assumed that because the mp3s are digital that a simultaneous start would mean that they wouldn't drift apart. Would they somehow process the information differently and so playback at slightly different speeds? The files may be digital, and if all played back using the same reference dig...

Something I feel should be emphasized for anyone looking into this - Vince's 2nd harmonic (octave) circuit is really really really not the same thing as tube drive you're familiar with. Sure, in a general sense it sounds non-linear "tubey" - but the dynamic behavior is entirely different. Entirely. ...

Hey, what's up folks.....? I logged on here specifically after finding this post. Because I have a few questions maybe the users of the modded TPS can help me with.... I talked with Vince for a good hour and he ran the gory details down to me about tube gear and how the ART specifically handles the...

The 388 - it does make a difference, the fixed speed is right at the zone where it benefits from the little extra help. A 424, it's mostly the double speed setting that provides the big jump in fine detail and high end. Pitch control on top of that - I doubt the improvement is dramatic. I don't thin...

Sounds pretty cool, maybe a little laid-back type thing to listen to before bed type album. A little bit hot on the reverb and such for my tastes but its interesting anyway! Thank you very much, kslight! Yes indeed, this is on the thick reverb and fx texture side, it's a cult-fan post-goth ethereal...

Can you post examples of files with and without the aliasing distortion? I want to tune my ear to it, although I'll probably regret it. Like seeing the fnords. Snarl, it's tricky to try to get an audio example that isolates the aliasing problem and makes it easy to tease out from whatever other sub...

* Adding some thoughts about the topics raised, and distortion "color": 2nd harmonic distortion (and even order distortion in general) is characteristic of asymmetrical non-linear gain, one side of the waveform transformed differently than the other. Prominent musical sound is an added octave, timbr...
