In the future, you could try moving one mic back and forth in relationship to the other. In combination with flipping the phase of one of them, you'll find a spot where turning on your 2nd mic won't subtract from the other. You may find a pleasing combination. Having said that... Lots of calls and emails. Try to get something through another band. Some clubs like it if you set up a whole night - say three bands and perhaps some sort of theme. That way the booker doesn't have to do all the work. Just make sure the bands you bring along are both good and reliable...

I once saw a squirrel that could drive a tiny motorboat. Don't recall any screaming, tho... are you sure the squirrel wasn't waterskiing behind the motorboat? Waterskiing squirrels, I've seen. pleasureboating squirrels is a whole new level. Dang, you might be right - he might have been waterskiing ...

A preamp tube going usually sounds like random white noise that fluctuates in volume. If you lightly tap it you can affect the sound. That is my simple test.
