Re: Stadiums
I'm not sure I want to spend the 100 bucks to see them in a football stadium... I think it's freaking awesome that they're playing baseball stadiums and old ones at that. I was terrified that they would be doing sheds. I'm SO glad they're not. Really? Why is that? I've always been lead to believe s...

Absolutely! When I finally switch to a Mac, I'll keep a Windows machine around just for that. You don't have to! Just use Parallels, Boot Camp, or both! If you use both you have the choice of rebooting into Windows to run a full DAW, or you can use Parallels to open your Windows apps right in OSX (...

I wish there was a seperate day just for the PotLuck Studio. A whole lot of the time I wanted to be there AND at a workshop. That would be cool. I had that going on as well. I ended up skipping a lot of the other workshops to go to the potluck studio ones. The only problem with it having its' own d...

Adobe Audition has a noise reduction plug that is worth the price of the entire DAW. It also has a spectral frequency analyzer view where you can visually see and edit frequency specific ranges. http://adobe.com/audition Absolutely! Re: Advice needed on digital transfers from old DAT tapes
I did this a while back. Lots of fun. Anyway, I'll give what help I can: 1. Don't know. I'm not quite sure what you mean. 2. The biggest pitfall in transferring old DATs is the condition of the tapes. They don't age well. Did you check the same spot you heard problems in your transferred audio files...

I don't know anybody named Helen, but I do wonder how much good it does us to have more dynamic range ITB than we get out of the analog stuff we're recording and playing back through. To a point I can understand, but how far do we need to go? Math. The extra bits are good for more precise calculati...

That houseboat is seriously indulgent...but you can't blame him for having all that money. I thought On An Island left a lot to be desired (especially lyrically)...Ironically, despite having the lavish houseboat, much of On An Island was recorded at Abbey Road! Gilmour is the real reason Floyd neve...

I know it's retroactive, but that is THE sound I'd love to recreate!! ...and, I'd love to read your ar...

Some times I listen to things just for inspiration. Raw Power and Fun House...Technically those aren't great recordings but those records flat out rock because they were tracked mostly live and they got the vibe of what was going on and to me that's what I'm trying to do. Get that vibe on tape so I...

I saw them at Alpine Valley in 1980, so they must have still been using the WOS at that point. All I know is that they sounded like hippies. And stoned ones at that. Unfortunately, it wasn't very loud so I had to talk to and listen to ... Hippies. Nope. They only used the wall in the early 1970's. ...
