I just found this video via Stumbleupon, Nirvana's "Nevermind", I will have to watch the whole thing later (it's 72 minutes?). Cobain overdubbed 5 layers of guitar? That doesn't sound "grungy". Good.

I have the Roland Microcube and the Vox DA-5, the Vox is a little bigger and seems to handle low notes better.

Google 'matrix tuner pickup'. I got one of these (or another brand), you can stick it on various parts of the guitar (uke in my case) soundboard to see where you're getting the best sound. 10 bucks and no soldering or gluing.

The Maine version has kick-ass brewpubs, cheap lobster, and less hippies, if I remember correctly.
I wonder about a 'Portland' that's not on a coast, though. Maybe they're known for port wine or something.

There do seem to be a lot of 'backwards hair' bands on the cover of EQ lately. But that's because I'm old, and wear an onion on my belt.

The verses on Smash Mouth's "All Star" seem to be a little like Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out with Him". Maybe just the bass playing is similar?
