I can tell you that Chinese instrumental folk music worked well with Trout Mask Replica. And that anything works well on lsd/mushrooms.

wait. you're telling me you got an mtr-12 for free, in working order, and you don't want to carry it downstairs and try it out? come on, man. Lame, huh? But the thing weighs like 250 lbs. oh well... I'll have to at least give it a try. I'm just so used to small and portable gear that looking at it ...

i recorded some triangle for a few songs i am working on and the tone sounds pretty good. (KM84 > PM1000 > Digi 001) the hits are fairly consistent, but not as even as i would like them. ive been playing with compression and minor gating, which definitely helps, its just not quite there yet. i am c...

OR - Just fill up 8 tracks on the tascam and bounce to a pair of tracks on the otari. I like that method, too, except wouldn't one do it the other way 'round..!? Or maybe fill up 16 tracks on the Tascam, then bounce to the Otari for final overdubs, taking advantage of the wider tracks fir fidelity ...
