my c&c kit has a 20" kick and it's one of the best sounding and most versatile kick drums i've ever used. i had an 18" gretsch years ago and while i enjoyed it, it was a one trick pony. the 20" c&c killed it. i'm down to one kit and this 20" does it all.

Anyone have any direct experience with multiple 896HD's? i run (2) metric halo MIOs for 16 inputs/outputs plus an additional 2.5 p...

in tiger, core audio's 'aggregate device' lets you combine as many hardware units as you want so don't feel restricted to buying 'a device w 12 inputs'. can use six 2-channel boxes or two 6-channel boxes to get there.

i have a gefell UMT70S that i think sounds really good. M7 / transformerless. i haven't compared it to any of the above mentioned mics, in fact it's a fluke that i own it at all, so i never did any comparison shopping or anything. at any rate, it's worth checking out if you record alot of quiet sour...

you could hookup a pad via switch..

or hook up a potentiometer, probably a 50k - 100k, just guessing.
