I rip 192 AAC and enjoy the hell out of walking to the Metro stop. This is as close to critical listening as I seem to get. EDIT: By the way I just got some AKG K26 headphones for around $49 with shipping. They're great smallish headphones for portable listening. The iPod can drive them pretty well....

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know what I'm talking about but I'll throw out some ideas that come to mind that I welcome to be shot down for my own education. Maybe they didn't track to tape as hot back then as folks with the same equipment would today. Instruments had their own space in t...

I don't have any technical advice to give.

I wonder if Roy Orbison wrote the Pretty Woman riff. That right there is a sick riff. Am I right? Am I right?

I'm a big fan of the way Wilco's Being There sounds.

The Traveling Wilburys first disc is still so great.

I know it's not his prime years but even in his last days Orbison's voice was beautiful (ie You're Not Alone Anymore).

I remember seeing in Metallica's Nothing Else Matters video, James Hetfield singing into some pantyhose.

Zoom Rhythmtrack 234---really the only one I've used but can't imagine it getting any easier and sounds real nice too.

I'll vouch for the YouSendIt deal and go a bit further. Basically, you upload a zipped folder--but that zipped folder can contain just one song. Technically, you're emailing someone the location of this uploaded zip content but for the purposes of something like this board, after sending this upload...

I love my 15" 1.67 G4 Powerbook with 1 GB of Ram. I record through a Presonus Firebox to Logic Express and suits my needs great. I also use my Powerbook for everything. I bought mine new not too long ago and expect to use it (provided I don't drop it) for another few years. Buying new right now migh...

When you say an assymetrical closet you mean without 90 degree angles? Would a single partition with a door cutting across a corner work? May have to give that a shot.

And some more by Jeff Tweedy---some of that dual guitar craziness sounds unbelievable. In general I'm not a live in concert cd listener but this one sounds fantastic.

You may want an attractive looking guitar in your collection--seeing as you already have an sgv, go with the Fender.

A real nice Fender neck rules everything. The cheap ones just don't have 'em and that's exactly where the tone starts and truly makes all the difference.
