I'll second MBV's Loveless.
I bought it and keep trying.

I just got an Epi Joe Pass on eBay Friday. Should arrive sometime this week if all is right in the eBay world. My initial plan, having not even touched the thing is to switch out the bridge to a Bigsby and possibly put a taller nut on there--take out some of the jazziness. It is a full-hollowbody so...

It doesn't seem like anyone here has seen it but, there was a Guitar World cover story that was a Jack White/Jimmy Page joint interview. It wasn't heavy on nuts-and-bolts. However, it did cover some of the more "this is my take on recording" elements. Very interesting. Thanks for the heads up. Here...

Damit that's exactly what I used to do when I was sixteen, listen to one record over and over again! Unfortunately, the technology has improved to enable me to indulge my ADD, thereby never actually getting to know any new stuff very well. This absolutely becomes a problem for me every once in a wh...

I put on Van Halen's 1984 yesterday and it sounded so good---it was so familiar but from such a distant personal past that I guess I never realized how good it sounded--I was 8 or 9, I guess I didn't know any better. That first synth song caught me by surprised this way. Kind of like, "Oh yeah, this...

anyone have a mono copy of this record...? This is great and what I was thinking when I was riding home on the Metro today. Because of this thread I decided to listen to Sgt. Pepper's on the iPiddy. Some of the hard-panning is really hard for me to listen to with headphones--yes, headphones. Someti...

yep. AAC sounds better than comparably sized mp3 files. And how many players can handle AAC files as compared to MP3? If manufacturers of players want to compete with Apple's dominance in the future, they had better be able to make something that can handle AAC's. I have an iPod and all my cd's are...

I don't think mp3 is ALL about portability. I think it's about accessability too. I'll shuffle through my mp3's (rather AAC's) through my stereo more times than I'll shuffle through the compact disks they were ripped from.subatomic pieces wrote:what's the point? mp3 is all about portability, right?
