Try anything Motu makes. Simple to set up and use. With the option to either use mic preamps or just line inputs. They have different sizes available, with the corresponding prices. www.motu.com Cheers Thanks, just checked them out. It looks like the 4pre would be the model I need? It is twice the ...

Would this do the job? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Akai-Professional-EIE-I-O-Audio-MIDI-Interface-With-USB-Hub-106700560-i1826039.gc Do these units add any color to the input? And would it be a 1/4" to 1/4" snake cable to hook this up to the 4-track? Any issues I should know about like a mono/stereo...

I think you've pretty much answered all your own questions correctly. You go 4 outs of your 4-track (assuming it has discrete (discreet?) outs) into 4 ins on your interface, whatever that may be. You'll need at least 4 inputs. If they have mic pres, just adjust the trim to line levelish. Then, yeah...

4 track tape into computer as individual tracks

Can someone tell me a piece of gear that will allow audio transfer from an old 4-track into my laptop, with all 4 tracks transferred at one time? I assume I need an external device of some type with 4 inputs. But I haven't been able to figure out what to buy. It seems many of these devices come with...

You need to put the loop track to tempo based and double click on the loop and set the loop to tempo based (turn the clock into a note). There is also a way to do that in the audio pool, a check box for each audio event, but I can't quite recall what it's called. Both the audio and the track the au...

Thanks farview. Unfortunately that didn't work. The loop remains at the same tempo, despite my changing it slower on the tempo track. Only the metronome gets slower, not the loop. I attached a screen cap. So eat beat 3 I'd expect the loop to slow down, but it doesn't, only the metronome does. Any id...

Or more seriously, Cubase doesn't just re-synch loops like that. If you set up your loop to be a number of bars, you can use the timestretch tool to fit it to the grid at the desired tempo. The loop was recorded at 180bpm and 8 bars. So what I did is use the tempo mode (rather than fixed) on the tr...

Cubase Tempo Track Question

Hey guys. I imported a drum loop into an audio track. Then I created a tempo track. I can set the tempo track to jump and ramp, but it doesn't affect my loop. So basically I hear the metronome slow down or speed up, but my actual drum loop does not slow down or speed up. Any ideas why this would hap...

Man, I *wish* that I could find a 234 or 238 for cheap. I'm using a tascam 38 right now, and I'm finding it difficult to stick to just 8 tracks for what I'm doing. I use 4 tracks for drums, 2 for guitar, bass gets one and that leaves me with one left for vocals and leads. Can't you dump them all in...

I think I read somewhere (not in manual) that the R jack, the one that is used for sync, is the cleanest of all, but I can't verify. Regardless, coming in through these was noticeably better sounding than the channel inputs. Pg. 11 "SUB INPUT L + R: Provide a direct route to the master fader. An ou...

Yeah, they are good.

I think Ebay would be your only other option. I see many old manuals pop up on there.

pop in a cassette and see if it works. Unfortunately I don't have any, which is why this purchase was a gamble. I am okay with money right now, so if I have to restore it more than I hope that's fine. I just want the machine to work like new. NAC is sending me a few cassette samples. By the way, I ...
