Re: recommended soundcard for 24/96 recording?

the rme and lynx products look great. unfortunately, they're priced way out of my range for my home studio, they're about 5x or so the prices of the above listed 24/96 products.

however, i would definitely consider them if i were setting up a pro sound studio...

The E-Mu 1212M with 2 ins, and 2 outs looks great and does have even better specs than the maudio 410 and others, and is $199 at musiciansfriend. I think I'll work a little more with 16/24 and if this proves to be a solid product, then consider moving to it.

recommended soundcard for 24/96 recording?

i need only a single (stereo) line in for my guitar and drum recording, and am looking at the m-audio revolution pci card, as well as the m-audio delta 410 pci card. both are under $100 these days. Also, don't need midi or mic pres. the delta 410 looks a lot more pro quality, while the revolution lo...

Re: Million dollar guitar sounds for $58

guitar / drum clips, home recorded, comments

I've recorded some guitar playing through various amps, with a yamaha ry-8 drum machine on some clips. most of the playing is simple guitar noodling with some reverb. setup is either DI or mic'd SM57 amp to mixer to sblive 16/48 wavelab, occasional use of RNC compressor. no overdubs or post eq or ma...

I believe it uses the AKM ADC converters which is good, but somehow the specs are a few db sh...

Re: Million dollar guitar sounds for $58

These were all recorded through a Behringer MX-602, and either SM-57 or a Behringer $29 Ultra-G DI box. The MX-602 was $69, but hot damn, they were later reduced at MF for $59. http://www.tedm.com/mp3s the amps however, are literally a hundred times more or so... I think the technology in many Behri...
