He really wants clarity and definition. Any suggestions for this situation - or future recordings (to get a clear defined sound with his particualr bass and EQ settings)?
Also want to say that I appreciate the feedback. (by the way - how's the rest of the mixes sounding?)

The D12 captured almost no high end. And a whole LOT of low end. After the parts were created, he went in and re-EQed his bass by scooping out the mids and increasing the highs (5k - 9k area). I hear clicking sounds that are undesireable to my ear. But this is the sound he's after. Not sure what to ...

Having Bass Tone (Mix EQ) Issues - Opinions Needed!
Guys - We're having some issues with getting bass sounds in our mix. We recorded the bass (Ibanez w/Active pickups) through a Sytek (non-burr-brwn) mic pre, no compression as well as miking the bass cabinet with a AKG D12 (also through a Sytek non-burr-brwn mic pre). After the initial mixes were don...

Mixing Our Album - Clashing On Sounds
We're mixing our album. Due to time constraints, there are 2 of us (in the band) each mixing 1/2 the songs. As would be expected, there is a lot of disagreements on level-balance, instrument tones, etc. Looking for some outside opinions on what you guys (the audio-skilled) think. Give it to me strai...

Are you for sure you're actually hearing reverb? If not did you maybe select analog 1 instead of bus one (or whatever number bus you happen to be using)? Or is the output of the aux incorrect? Yeah, I hear a small amount of reverb and see the level-meters just barely moving. And again, I gotta slam...

How do you have the wet/dry setup on the effects, both for the plugs and the outboard? You've got your plugin on an insert of your aux track? And, you're sending from your audio track via a send with the send level at unity? If you remove the plugin from the aux insert, does the meter show you gett...

Reverb Return - TOO Quiet
Having some issues with my reverb returns in Pro Tools. I have an audio track with some audio. I have an aux-return track with a D-verb or Reverb-One plugin loaded. I have a the audio sending to a normal mono-bus. The bus is the input on the aux-return. I hear very little reverb... Even when I slam ...

Freq - Specific Compression In Pro Tools?
Using a plugin EQ and a DBX hardware compressor (via sidechain jack) - can Frequency specific compression (and ducking, etc...) can done in Pro Tools?
Any info on this would be great.
Thanks.

Older CDs - Wow!
Being that it's getting warmer here on the East Coast, I decided to pull out some "spring/summer" CD's (those that have memories for me) - to help along the spring-fever. I was listening to British Steel (Judas Priest), Skynyrd's Greatest Hits, and the $5.98 EP from Metallica. What a JOY it was to h...

So the string distance should be the same as the two-sticks. I'm guessing that the string just helps by eliminating the need to bend down. I'll have to try this method. One other question - does the distance NEED to be only two-sticks? Of could you make the distance larger? (for bigger drummers, or ...
