Question about Clock Syncing

Well, maybe that describes it. Skip down to the bottom if you just want to read the core question. Right now I have a DIGI 002R with an Apogee Minime. The 002R is slaved to the clock in the Minime over the S/PDIF connection between the two. I'm looking to expand my A/D-D/A capabilities for both incr...

Re: Is anyone using a Word Clock with a Digi 002?

They all have clocks; they're just not all that great (accurate). Good clocks are expensive; and the Digi LE interfaces are all budget gear.

Re: EQ and Comp plugins for Mac/ProTools LE

I love the BF76 but don't have much to compare it to -- I've never used a real one but this really does sound good and it's easy to use. I'm not positive on this, but the BF76 was part of my "free bundle" which _had_ a bad expiration date. So digidesign decided to put the installer online. Feel fre...

Re: Hum on 002 set-up

Check the whole signal path. I've had things pluggged in before that generated noise by the way they were set up. You shouldn't have noise on your tracks. I also know there was an issue with the power harness on some of the 002 rack units; could be a similar issue.

It's a great show. Not sure when they're going to be releasing any new episodes, but you've got a healthy backlog to go through. Enjoy.

Re: transfer files from 4416 to protools how to?

Not familiar with that particular unit. If it has an internal CD burner, see if you can export individual tracks as wave files (.wav). You can then import these into protools.

Re: best pre with digital outs

I've got a Mini-me and am using it as you describe--to get an extra two channels going into with 002R for a total of 10 plus the external clock source. I use it conjunction with a Spirit M12 and the combination of gain staging through everything sounds good enough to me. The Mini-me is right in that...

Re: Using A Binding Machine

For real? I'll keep going but I think you're just playing me. Anyway, it's not all that automatic. The lower part punches the holes. The upper part just stretches the two sides of the plastic binding apart so you can thread the punched paper over the binding tips. Go to Office Depot or Staples or Ki...

Re: Using A Binding Machine

Align the binding over those spikes at the top. Pushing the handle back will stretch out the binding. Work it a couple of times and it will become obvious.

Re: Using A Binding Machine

Put a piece of paper in and pull the handle. It'll make lots of neat looking rectangular holes. If nothing else it's a good confetti machine.
