http://musicfromouterspace.com/ has some interesting stuff as well. One of these days I'll build myself a modular synth.

No, you will not be able to use any sounds for Reason Adapted other than the ones it comes with. I've been using Reason for quite a while now, though, and it has pretty much replaced nearly all of the virtual instrument plugins that I used to use. It's worth the price of admission.

Legend has been one of my favorite movies since I was younger. It was my introduction to Tangerine Dream of whom I'm a big fan of to this day. Labyrinth is another great one. David Bowie + Trevor Jones + Jim Henson = greatness. While I knew of Bowie when this movie came out, this film really pushed ...

I've been using Lightscribe discs for a while for demos and such and it works rather well for me. The nice thing about it is that you're not hitting your pocket book to replace ink cartridges. Also, Lightscribe discs can be had for cheap these days. If you're not needing full color images on you dis...

Been using it for a while now. I mostly use it for a few VSTi that I own that don't have an RTAS equiv. I got rid of a lot of the free VSTs that I used to have, though. I spent more time playing with them than making music.

Kel Audio at http://www.kelaudio.com makes some great budget mics. I've been using the HM1 since it first came out and it's one of the most useful mics I own.

From the horses mouth: "Hi All, Sorry for this relatively slow response post to what is clearly a headline issue for many DUC citizens ? the thread arrived ahead of the actual launch, and I didn?t want to post until after we?d got the official news up on our own website, and given it time to propaga...

How much is that shell gonna cost? It's not cheap but it's been recommended to me by a few folks. I don't exactly have the tools or the space to do much construction which means that I'm not going to be building one. Yes, I know things can be cheaper when you do it yourself but I just really can't ...

comply with international standards with concerns to lead components. Are you saying my 002 is full of lead!? Aw crap, guess I have to upgrade now. Wait, excuse me, I mean buy almost the exact same thing for more than I paid for the almost same thing. The 003 is generally not for current users. It'...

The Mic/DI button probably does the same thing I'm betting.

It's pretty much always been that way. There's no way to bypass the pres on the 002 for 1-4.

According to someone on the DUC, it seems that there is a reason for the 003s lack of major upgrades. It looks like Digi was pushed to put out a new product to comply with international standards with concerns to lead components. I know quite a few manufacturers that are having this problem as well....

New house, new studio space

So, my wife and I found a house with a decent sized basement. Right now I'm trying to figure out where I want to put everything. The thing I'm currently not sure about is where the best place for the desk would be. Here's a general layout of the floor plan. It's generally to scale. I'm sure I'm off ...

I can't stand these things. I can see the 60 cycles and it drives my eyes crazy let alone all of the headaches I've gotten from them. I'll work by candle light before I use them.
