yes, it only takes up to 512 compact flash cards. i got a stoopid deal on amazon for a bunch of them. roland has a new pad out, the octopad, that i looked into briefly, but i'm not ready to upgrade yet. you may want to see how it lets you load and organize samples - it might be a little more modern ...

Well, that's a whole other issue because the last "producer" she worked with had them track to a click then go back and overdub everything else separately. ah ha! you'll get faster. after a few more years, you'll make all kinds of "go to" setups for various instruments and you'll be able to quickly assess whether what you're hearing is working or not and adjust from there.

you haven't told us very much about your workspace or anything... do you have a separate control room and tracking room, or is everything together in one space? i'm not sure why you can't listen objectively while the band is tracking. and don't feel like you have to rush through everything. budgets ...

You are definately beating yourself up needlessly. You have been doing this sporatically for 3 years, you don't have a lot of good equipment, you are sitting in an untreated room, etc... Do you really expect to compete with guys that have been doing this professionally for decades and have much bet...
