I originally bought my 002r with the intention of getting it modded, but after spending hours perusing forums, despite rave reviews from some quarters, I've actually become more skeptical. For one, most of the reviews are based on an A B comparison where A and B are separated by several weeks. Huma...

BLA tweak head is SWEET. More depth and better stereo image. It is easily some of the best money I've ever spent. PLUS, these guys are really great. Luke talked me through making my own BNC cables when we got their microclock. And Matt told me that they've made some more improvements since I had min...

He does all the props mostly as a distraction...to not take himself so seriously. I saw him at a show where he threw dozens of inflatable superman dolls out into the crowd and then later threw out as many of santa claus. He gets really nervous when he performs. What may seem like being smug or pret...

I've only talked with Sufjan for 5 minutes, but I know a couple people who do know him. I don't understand all the conjecture. He's an artist. Artists do what they do. You like it or you don't. A discussion about his music would make more sense. He is actually a very shy person. He never thought his...

you may still still notice some difference because the impedance is different on 5,6,7,8 than it is on 1,2,3,4. Unfortunately you cannot bypass the preamp circuit in 1-4. that's one thing I don't like about mine. And you CAN hear the difference depending on what you plug into it. See the specs: htt...

digi 002R in 1/2 3/4 OR 5/6 7/8??
I've got my 002R modded and loving the conversion. I'm finishing up my first batch of mixes summed through our new board and I need to bring stems back into the 002R. Should there be any coloration/affect on 1/2 and 3/4 if I'm going in TRS? Will my stems go through the preamps in 1-4 even if I have ...

I'm glad it's bringing something extra to you record! I assume there's an assistant or someone from the studio working with you. Ask them lots of questions and try their sugestions, but don't feel that you have to lock into what they say if you don't dig it... I've got a great intern and college st...

I just wish I had another year with it before I had to commit to final mixes. But, I guess I always learn best by jumping in the deep end. Thanks for you thoughts. Not to totally go off topic, but that statement hit me. Another year on the same project might not be the thing to make it better. Some...

oh, and Neve's never seem to hurt the situation, if you have access, why would you NOT give that a listen? :) yep! My thought with the stems is that if we mix stems down at Glen's place we can be more accurate in fixing my problems here at our studio...AND of course we get the benefit of his board ...

Cool. I understand. I'm in over my head here, a home recordist who now has the backing of a college budget to build a studio teaching lab...that is why I've got such good equipment. I would have posted this question over on gearslutz where there are more people probably doing a hybrid setup like thi...

Nada? Well, I guess it must be pretty straightforward then...something close to what I'm doing......or at least to each his/her own. Diving into this hybrid setup has really afforded me a huge learning curve. Everything is sounding nice. I just want to think about what is best to take with me to the...

I'm now learning how to sum through our new Audient board. BLA "tweakhead" modded 002R>some outboard compressors>Audient. Right now I've got 1/2 Drums 3/4 Guitars/pads/keys 5/6 BGVs/room mics/verbs (I'm mixing some live tracks now) 7 >dbx 160x bass 8 > distressor lead vox then I'm sending the drums ...
