having not heard the cds, i did attend one show that was taped and thought it was a pretty restrained performance. was anyone else present? is this typical wilco? unfortunately, i actually like wilco less after seeing them live. i hate when that happens.

Andrew Bird "...and the Mysterious Production of Eggs"

if you can get past the title you're rewarded with amazing songs with lines like "i'm going to drill a tiny hole into your head."

"Howe Gelb is the best!" the show was my ideal dream scenario for a band: people who just enjoy music. he was calling out to people in the crowd to go up and join him on certain songs. couple that with hiim always changing things up on a whim and it seemed like a 'practice.' I've always been in band...

i've been meaning to pick one up but a lull in time for recording has kept me from it. I'm also kind of scared of the 'low gain' label that ribbon mics get. My main pres are Presonus digimax on which the maximum gain listed is the minimum recomended for the SB mics. electric guitars are no problem b...

Andrew Bird, RE: Eggs and the Mysterious Production, Of

It hasn't left my stereo since it came out and without my precious TOMB I haven't been able to gush about it with like minded geeks. He will be playing in Chicago again later this month so I want to get myself phyched up for this show. Let's dish all things Bird. #1: Do you think the vocals were tra...

Howe Gelb, Giant Sand, AAAA

so this forum is for critical listenning, huh? well half the new Gelb record "Arizona Amp and Alternator" sounds to me like it was recorded in a bathroom... in a good way! John Parish apparently peiced it all together(i'm guessing this is the record he was refferring to back in T.O.35) and the whole...

Re: PT 002 Rack Advice (Tascam, ProSonus, Mackie)

I've owned a digimax96k for over a year now and am quite a happy customer, but my view might be slightly skewed(i don't recall the features of the LT version). I do appreciate the extra headroom of the 96k and the eq 'enhance' feature actually does tailor the pres for OH micing, as advertised, and q...
